Victory Physicians opened February 2007 after 2 1/2 years of construction and set-up. It is the brain child of Dr. Frank Arian and was conceived in the wake of the several years that Dr. Arian worked for other physicians. During his tenure at various other private practices, clinics and urgent cares in Bakersfield, Dr. Arian came to believe quite simply, he could do it better. To begin, Dr. Arian asked the most basic of all questions:

      • Why did so many things seem to be broken in these other practices?
  • Why is it so hard to get in to be seen by a doctor in a reasonable amount of time?
  • Why are the wait times so long?
  • Why can’t we ever find the patient’s chart?
  • Why doesn’t the doctor ever sit down when he talks to me?
  • Why doesn’t the doctor speak in language I can understand?
  • Why aren’t medications refilled promptly and reliably?
  • Why aren’t referrals and consultations to specialists done in a timely fashion?
  • Why do we have to send patients all over town to get labs, xrays, and other studies?
  • Why doesn’t the doctor let me in on his thought process and tell me why he is ordering the things he is ordering?
  • Why doesn’t the doctor explain the pathophysiology of my disease process to me and again, in language I can understand?

With these questions in mind, convinced he could solve these problems and certain he could build a better practice, Dr. Arian moved to Palm Springs and founded Victory Physicians.

Having been a medical and surgical patient in the past and no stranger to doctor visits himself, Dr. Arian reflected upon how boring and generic doctors offices are. It was during his family practice residency that he sparked an idea. Why not create a themed practice; something to take the patients mind off the drudgery of visiting the doctors office. Dr. Arian had seen a poster that hung in his hospital during residency following the September 11th attacks. It was titled, “Defenders of the Home Front” and pictured a doctor, nurse, fireman, and policeman among others. With the realization that we now have a new “Home Front” in the war on terror, and the coincidental nationally known collection of World War II Home Front memorabilia he had accumulated, Dr. Arian thought a World War II Home Front theme would be terrific. Seizing the iconic “V for Victory” from the period, his practice name “Victory Physicians” was intended to create a mind set of hope and positive outcome for both his patients and the new “Home Front”.
